Lincoln Orienteering Group
Competition
Below you will find details on the various events & competitions LOG put
on:
LOG Summer Series
Our summer league that runs from April till August. Events are held
every other week on a Thursday evening. Usually incorporates 9-10 events
with your best 5 to count.
More details at
www.summerseris.logonline.org.uk
Lincoln Limp
Entry to the Limp is automatic, just turn up to any District event
(usually at an East Midlands or HALO area) and run the colour coded course
that’s suited to your ability. You are then scored on your time compared
with the average of the top 3 on your course. Your best 5 scores go towards
your Limp total score.
Club Training
Held every other Thursday outside of the Summer & Winter Series. These
sessions will focus on various techniques such as warming up, compass work,
collecting features, attack points, fitness and stamina. If you would like
us to focus on a set area one week please let the coaches know and they will
try to accommodate your request. Sessions cost £1 per person.

Blue Ribbon
This is our Club Championship event, usually at a NOC event not too far
away from Lincoln in December. The team captain will work out your average
Mins per Km over the season and give you a handicap. Depending on your
ability you will either run the Green course or the Orange course.
Competitors will be allocated a start time based on their handicap with the
intention that everyone “Should” finish around the same time (usually 12pm).
i.e if your season average is 10 mins per Km and the course is 5km you will
start at 11.10am – if your season average is 5 mins per Km you will start at
11.35am
The winner is the first person back.
LOG Winter Series
From November 2008 we hope to run a series of 6 events on an alternative
Saturday mornings. Scoring would be on your best 4 of 6 events.
Lincoln City Race
This race, unlike most “Traditional” orienteering is ran in an urban
environment, the historic heart of Lincoln City. The urban race offers many
different challenges than those found in the woods; lots of narrow alley
ways, complex historical sites, university grounds will challenge the most
hardened of orienteers.
Lincolnshire Bomber Weekend
A joint venture between LOG & RAFO this event takes place biannually in
January. We aim to provide something different from the normal orienteering
event. Usually the weekend consists of a Relay on the Saturday with a Long O
& Colour Coded event on the Sunday.
