2016 sees the 9th LOG Winter Series, with a programme of 4 ‘Race the Grantham Parks’ events running on Saturday mornings during November. Open to all, this series is suitable for everyone from novice to experienced orienteers.
Coaching and instruction will be available between 10am and 11am for beginners and improvers, with races to follow (from approx. 10.00am onwards). Start times for all races are between 10:00am and 12pm. Courses close at 1pm.
There will be 2 courses available at each event; a standard line course and a score course. Both of these courses will be ideal for beginners new to the sport and for those more experienced orienteers.
Line: 3-5km (Orange to Light Green, TD 3-4 standard)
Score: 20 controls, max 45 minutes time limit. Each control is worth 10pts and there is a late penalty of 10pts for each minute or part thereof over this time limit.
Entry for the first event is free. For the other three races, the fee is £3 for LOG/BO members, £4 for non-members, £2 for juniors and includes SI dibber hire.
Points will be awarded from your best 3 events towards a series title for each course. In the event of a tie, a ‘count back’ procedure will apply to the next best scores.
