Lincs Urban League 2022 – Final Round-Up

The 2022 edition of the Lincs Urban League, a series of six races jointly hosted by LOG and HALO, concluded on the streets of Scunthorpe Town centre last night. A number of trophies were up for grabs and many of them went down to the wire in this grand finale!

The Men’s Long title, a two-way shoot-out between Liam Harrington and David Jolly, was won by Liam by just a single point. The Women’s Long was a three horse race between LOG’s Andrea Page, Ally Wright and Anna-Kaisa Koskela-Brooke, with Ally ending up securing enough points on the evening to claim her first long title. The Women’s Medium title has already been retained for a second year by Hannah Mather and Paulius Malkevicius just pipped Pete Harris on countback to win the Men’s Medium trophy. Finally, the Short title was claimed by Mary Vickers, with 6 wins out of 6! The inter-club trophy was always going to be a closely fought affair, with LOG holding a slender 36 point advantage going into the final fixture, and HALO managed to overturn this on the night, using home advantage well to take the shield by just 8 points!
