EMUL Woodhall Spa race – Results

Our thanks to all the runners who participated in today’s EMUL event in the beautiful Lincolnshire town of Woodhall Spa. In particular our gratitude must be extended to the Jubilee Park organisation, who gave permission for us to hold the event in these very tricky times, and to Craig Lucas (planner), Pete Harris (controller), Amanda Roberts (organiser) and the multitude of helpers from LOG!

Lincs Urban League and Lincs Challenge Shield – Results

The final race in the Lincs Urban League saw some excellent racing around Lincoln’s historic East End. Clare Hanna’s courses made great use of this varied area, with runners thrown into the Arboretum and Hospital Housing complex firstly, followed by some interesting route choice legs around the city centre, before being faced with the challenges of the intricate Stamp End to finish. This race, as well as deciding five of the six trophies up for grabs on the night, also featured the annual LOG vs HALO Lincolnshire Challenge Shield fixture.

Points from the race are shown here and the overall series table is here.

On the night, LOG comfortably claimed both the LUL and LCS shields, and the winners of the individual awards were:
Short – Isabel May (LOG)
Women’s Medium – Elspeth Jolly (HALO)
Men’s Medium – Martin Wheeler (LOG)
Women’s Long – Kate Brown (HALO)
Men’s Long – Liam Harrington (LOG)

LOG Club Night – 30th July

1) The final club training sessions before the start of the LUL will be running out from the University car park opposite Toys R Us, next Thursday 30th July, 6-7pm. It will be an urban session, so normal running kit, plus a compass, is required.

2) Please email Paul (pmmurgatroyd@aol.com), before the day of the session, to let him know you’re interested and he’ll put you on the list – first come, first served. We can take up to 12 next week and once we’re full, he’ll stick you on the reserve list and then let you know if anyone drops out beforehand. Any reserves will get first option on the following week’s session.

3) There will be a supply of extra maps for anyone who wants to come along at either 6pm or 7pm, to have a solo training session, so let Paul know if you’d prefer this.

4) Paul will make the session available as a PDF and can email this across to you, if you wanted to run it at another more convenient time for yourself. Let him know if you want a copy (pmmurgatroyd@aol.com)

The sign-up is open!
