Wolds MMM 2023 – Race Report

The wind blew and the clouds came and went, but all was well with the 42 runners who took to the footpaths and country lanes around Hagworthingham on Saturday 15th July for the 11th edition for the Wolds MMM. The George and Dragon proved to be very hospitable hosts and it was a great venue for this classic endurance event.

On the day, David Sparshott repeated his victory from 2022, with an impressive tally of 330 points out of the maximum of 470 available. Sebastien Loosen took second with a superior haul of 350 points, but time penalties knocked him off the top of the podium. Finally, LOG stalwart, John Mather, cruised into a comfortable 3rd place with 290 points, just ahead of Richard Dearden, who was beaten on overall time. The top female was Jane Deville, who bagged a noteworthy 250 points, comfortably ahead of Kate Brown, with 200, and Johanna Powell, with 178.

Final overall results can be found here. See you all again next year, when we’ll hopefully be returning to South Ormsby and the Massingberd Arms.
